I am optimistic and pessimistic of AI at the same time. There are many good things about an LLM (the tech behind the current common label of AI) in areas, such as, medical and software development. As a programmer, I use it all the time and it helps speed up development (when it is correct), but I am also pessimistic about AI. People can become attached to a computer system rather than form attachments with real people. Also, if people use it too often, it will make them dumb. If they use it all the time, they are offloading their thinking to a computer system rather than using their own brains to think though issues. Scriptures says in Matthew 22:37-40 “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” (NKJV). We need to form attachments with people and rely on our own thinking, not the thinking of computers.
